The applications offered by iZotope, research-driven audio technology company based in Boston, can be grouped into the following categories: Mixing and Mastering, Effects and Instruments, Audio Repair Tools, and Mobile Music. iDrum falls in the second category, the Effects and Instruments one. It is a virtual drum machine that looks very nice, is quite easy to use, and is available for Microsoft’s and Apple’s desktop operating systems (it’s also available for Apple’s iOS).

The Windows installation file is little over 36MB in size. You can install iDrum in one of several supported languages: English, German, Spanish, French, and Italian. A setup wizard will ask you to choose between a Full Installation (includes all the common files, iDrum standalone application, iDrum pro tools, and iDrum for VST) or Custom Installation (you get to choose what you want to install).

iDrum’s user friendly interface can be customized. You can switch from the default skin to the Airburst-Red or Plasq skins. It will take very little time to get accustomed to the interface and make the most out of what iDrum has to offer.

Speaking about that, you can use the iDrum virtual drum machine to come up with beats for any genre you can think of. To help you better understand what can be achieved with the application, it comes with some handy samples. Feel free to load them into the application and edit them as you see fit. Once you get the hang of it, go ahead and create some beats of your own. iDrum provides all the tools you will need to be successful in your endeavor.

You have 10 days at your disposal to use iDrum for free and evaluate the functionality it has to offer. To keep using the application once this trial period expires, you will have to purchase a license.

iDrum combines ease of use with good looks and powerful functionality.

Pros

iDrum is available for Windows, Mac, and iOS. The application comes with some handy samples. Use it to create beats for any genre you want.
